What is this crazy talk about how to make your website sticky? You mean pour honey or something on my computer screen?
What a shocking, expensive and insane idea!
What it really means in Internet marketing circles is: when a visitor to your site finds something of great interest that makes them want to come back to your site over and over regularly. You must think of ways to make them want to bookmark your site and return.
First off just deciding what kind of site you wanted, be it a niche,affiliate, or Adsense site took a lot of work, not even talking about building your pages. What a task! The last thing you want is a potential customer to find your webpage and say “nope, nothing here interesting…guess I’ll move on”
Getting people to want to return to your site next week or even tomorrow has got to be key. An outstanding way of doing this is getting these people to be friends with each other, talking about whatever topic your webiste is about.
Some ways this could be done on your site by running a chat room, a discussion forum or a bulletin board. These are some excellent ways to get people to come back every day or even more than once a day. Most hosts today already have these sort of things ready to go with just a few mouse clicks.
Here are some ways to attract people to participate in your “community” by telling them the privileges:
* Tell them all the benefits of participating.
* Get experts in your niche to appear.
* Create an ezine just for those who use these services to remind them of special upcoming events.
* Give free offers available only to members every week, month or even every day.
* Give members only, some of your best tips and tricks you know available in their niche.
That is just a handful of ideas to get you brainstorming to get things in gear.
Also, what do the search engines love? New content. With these types of pages other people are taking care of that for you!
I hope these ideas have you fired up. Now it’s your turn to burn the midnight oil and get thinking your head “I will get my website to grab casual visitors, transform then into members and have them returning to my site every day!”
Soon you will find your website growing like a weed.
