Tips for Maximizing Your Time and Space

A woman that I recently worked for had a real mess in her home, at least SHE though so. She woke up one morning and could not find anything that she was looking for. By the time that she placed the call and I answered the phone, she was a jumble of nerves, crying and thought she was a totally disorganized lousy homemaker.

Believe me; this scenario is replayed more times than you may think. We get so overwhelmed in life that we don’t realize that our world is turning to clutter until one fine day when we are totally lost. Then it hits us, “I need the help of a Professional Organizer”!

When we try it on our own, we get things under control; at least enough to be able to go on with life, as we know it, the only problem is that we lose our control again within a short period of time. Things just keeping mounting up until the day when we know that we just cannot go on this way and that we need Professional help in order to learn how to keep things organized.

This is where I come in, you see, I am a Professional Organizer. I will not only help you to get things under control, but I will teach you how to reprogram yourself in order to keep it that way. We set up your organizing program to fit your lifestyle so that you will be able to easily work projects into your time period. This sounds simple and basically, it is. The idea is that you have to get rid of some of your old habits in order to achieve your goal. Once that is done, you will be an organized person. I have clients that have me come back once or twice a year just to keep them on track. So, do whatever it takes to keep your home organizing in tact.

The first thing that we do is to go through the areas that you choose to change and get rid of the clutter. That does not always mean that we are going to dispose of items. Maybe they can be used in another room, may be a seasonal display piece or we may store it to be used when we rearrange the room again. Not everything is clutter! Sometimes it is just a matter of too much stuff in too small of an area.

Let’s use the kitchen as an example; do you have pots and pans that are taking up space that you only use at Christmas? Do you have bowls that you haven’t used since the day you put them in the cabinet? Do you have enough glasses in there to serve the entire neighborhood and only use four or them continuously? Then you have clutter in your cabinets. Now, I did not say that we are going to throw this stuff out. It is still something that you use-sometimes- and we want to keep those types of things. So, we will add a shelf in the pantry, the basement storage area or a closet and wrap, label and box these items for when we really do need them. You have just given yourself more space in your cupboards and can now see what you have in there

That wasn’t so hard was it?
Now you try the next one on your own and see how you do.

Organizing is a frame of mind so to speak. If we can find it, we use it so we want to make sure that we find everything that we own. In order to do that, every item needs a home to go back to.
