Everyone in the home-based business industry knows that it is both rewarding and challenging. It can be even more challenging to those of us with children. Nothing is more frustrating and less fruitful than getting on the phone with a prospect when the office door bursts open and two quarreling siblings enter. However, there are things you can do to help get your work done, spend time with family, and still maintain your sanity.

Towering at 6288 ft., Mt. Washington is the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. Each year, thousands of people get to the top by a variety of means, including hiking and driving. Enjoying the spectacular view without spending hours hiking up may seem like a time saver to some, but me? You couldn’t pay me enough to skip the hike, because I believe the journey, not the destination, is the point.
A recent coaching session with a client brought that story to mind when she expressed frustration after observing that one of her competitors’ business was well established after only a few months. As small- business entrepreneurs, some of us may look enviously at those who seem to go up the ladder of success with greater speed and wonder why we can’t do the same.

In today’s uncertain job market, individuals of all ages and backgrounds are having difficulty finding employment. The truth is, if you know where to look, the jobs have never been better! Instead of hunting through the classified advertisement section of the morning newspaper and circling the jobs of any interest, consider conducting an online search of available jobs in your area.

A business plan is a clear course of action for small and large businesses. Without a clear plan, it is nearly impossible to win the favor of an investor. You can also forget about a bank loaning you money. Even though you’ve mapped out your business plan in your head, it still needs to be presented in black and white.
You do not want to make any decisions, set priorities, or train managers before having a plan in place. You are going to need more than a bunch of number to do this. Facts are what you need because every plan needs to strike a balance between the factual and the ideal.

I often hear clients and colleagues say that they wish they lived in or closer to a big city that offers many networking opportunities.
I count myself fortunate to live in such a city—and one that has a strong entrepreneurial presence—that offers countless networking opportunities. But to tell you the honest truth, I only belong to one local networking group for women in business. Why only one? Local networking is time-consuming and expensive.

When asked what the secret to the success of her business was, Lucy Garrighan, president of Business Alternatives Inc., replied:
“I guess it is always remaining positive about what you are doing and working hard. If you believe you cannot fail, [then] most likely you won’t, and working hard goes along with this. I think it is so true that ‘the harder you work the luckier you are!’ We all get frustrated with difficulties, but I really believe that if you want to find the rainbow, [then] you have to put up with a little rain now and then.” Garrighan adds that she constantly reminds herself that “it could always be worse.” (Imprints of Success, by Amy Yard, September 2001 e-magnify.com)

I often meet new online marketers on various boards and they aspire to make the big income like some of the well-known personas out there, such as Yanik Silver and Bryan Kumar. However, most of these new marketers have only the slightest ideas on where to start, and a lot of them are not willing or able to put in a startup capital in their home internet business. However, it is almost impossible to start an home internet business without spending some money on basic infrastructure such as web hosting, domain names and so on. Hence, here is a rough guide on how to build an home internet business starting with little Capital.
