It’s wonderful when business owners have family, friends and associates who believe in and encourage their business ideas. But what if you’re not that fortunate?
I’ve had coaching clients who blamed their lack of progress in business on unsupportive and even hostile family members. “My spouse thinks I’m crazy to leave a good job just to follow a dream that may never come true. And maybe he’s right.”
Does the Law of Attraction offer a solution to this quandary? You bet it does.

When I first started my business, I listened to a lot of motivational speakers and read ’success’ books that preached to be successful in business we’ve got to make huge sacrifices, we’ve got to work 80-hour weeks, we’ve got to compromise, we’ve got to sacrifice time with our family or time off.
And while there are lots of people in the world that will tell you that that’s how you have to be successful in business, I’m not one of them.
I no longer believe that. I used to believe it but I don’t believe it any longer.

Abraham Maslow once said we long to be “that which we glimpse in our most perfect moments.” But, he also pointed out we are often afraid to live up to the potential we see in those moments.
As years pass and we fail to act on what we could be, the glimpses fade.
Instead of filling us with hope, our fantasies of success often trigger doubts, regret, and fear. In the success of others, we recognize our own failed potential.
We wonder, why can’t I have the life and work I long for?
Why can’t I succeed on my own terms?
Well, if you’re willing to try something new, you just might be able to do so.

Just over a year ago, I participated in a business coaching program where we were asked to set BHAGs - Big Hairy Audacious Goals. Looking back now, I can see that moment was a significant turning point for me. Up until that point, I had been playing it safe. My goals up until then weren’t Big, Hairy and Audacious.
They were Small, Bald and downright Timid. I had been playing it safe. I wasn’t committing to a bigger vision because that way I could avoid disappointment if it didn’t work out. I had been censoring my goals and aiming for what I thought I could achieve as opposed to what I truly wanted.

Do you ever wonder if you have a perfect work of art in you? You know, when you feel a really juicy inspiration coming over you…
So everything is going along swimmingly. You’re in fine form, just painting, carving, or potting up a storm. But then you start to get giddy with pre-success. Maybe you don’t even notice when you’ve crossed the line.

I have to confess that I like to indulge in a Starbucks Tazo Chai Latte about once a week. It’s a pleasant change from coffee and the spicy flavours remind me of my trip to India. Now I consider myself a reasonably observant person, so imagine my surprise when I recently noticed written on the side of the cup a few lines of philosophy under the heading “The Way I See It #142″. Wow. I’d never noticed that before. And I’m guessing that since this was #142, these little think-about-it tidbits have been around for a while.

You spend a lot of time reliving memories from the past. Some memories are positive and uplifting and give our days a bounce, enhancing our productivity and results. Other memories are not so bright and bum us out, draining our spirits and motivation and productivity.
Memories are stored in your head after a long journey that begins with a single vision. Visions are the pictures you see in your mind. You can have positive visions or negative visions.

Many people dream of being wealthy, of having great riches, a big car, a big house and all the money they can possibly use. It’s a human tendency to want more than they can have, and to really want the things that are just beyond their reach.
Becoming wealthy is mostly a mental exercise. If you have the correct mental program then there is nothing you can do except be wealthy, and this is what the majority of people forget. You need to be able to see yourself as being wealthy and think like a wealthy person and then you will find yourself attracting the wealth you desire. Your abilities are incredible, even if you don’t realise it fully … yet.
