Last week was the week of job interview horror stories. One client was on his way to an interview when he got distracted and ran into a guard rail. Nobody was hurt, but his car was damaged and could no longer be driven. Another client got into her car for her interview with plenty of time and everything she needed, except her wallet and cell phone. This would have been bad enough but then her car broke down. She finally got the car started again, but was late to her interview and had no way to call.

Thirteen and a half inches! Every day for one week I measured the amount of mail I got. All totaled, over a foot of paper came through my front door. Only half an inch of it was even remotely important.

Woman Looking at WatchOne of the greatest challenges many people face in business and in their personal lives is that there never seems to be enough time to accomplish everything they need to do, let alone finding time for things they want to do! What do you have to say no to so that you can say yes to your goals this year?

2. Play to your strengths
With everything in life, I believe you should play to your strengths.

If you’re terrible at cleaning your house, hire a cleaning lady. If you’re not great at organising, hire a professional organiser.

How many times have you told yourself that you really should get organized? You may have promised yourself that you’ll do it and you’ve even set aside whole weekends to finally get the job done. Somehow, the weekends come and go, and it still isn’t done.

You know it is going to take a lot of time and effort, so the question is: “Why bother?”

Getting organized is a very personal thing. Just like there is no one system that will work for everyone there is no universal reason to be organized. However, it is necessary to figure out why it is important to YOU. Figuring this out can serve as the push you need to start you going and keep you motivated.

“Out of clutter, find Simplicity.
From discord, find Harmony.
In the middle of difficulty lies Opportunity.”
– Albert Einstein
